My Timelapse Secret Weapon - LRTimelapse

I love making timelapses.  In fact, I think I spend more time with timelapse photography than any other type of photography!

What is Timelapse?

If you don’t know what timelapse photography is then lucky you!  You have a whole lot of viewing pleasure in store for you.  In fact, a timelapse clip or movie is a series of photographs taken over a period of time and then put together in a clip or sequence.  And the result? Time is sped up in an utterly amazing way!
And what I love most about timelapse is that it allows you to see what the eye normally can’t pick up on. Indeed, timelapse opens the door to a new reality.
And if you are interested in doing timelapse photography there are some important tools available to you now.

Timelapse tools

There are many tools used by timelapse enthusiast. Obviously, the most important piece of equipment is a camera. You can use any type of still camera, but certain types perform better than others.   You also need a sturdy tripod so that the camera will not move.  Finally, you need an intervalometer.  This is a simple tool that triggers your camera’s shutter at set intervals.
That is all you need for timelapse.  Now, you can get more and better. No question. You can buy equipment that moves the camera between shots, so that you get beautiful moving images.
Further, you can buy equipment that changes your settings automatically so that the camera can take beautiful night to day or day to night sequences. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

But what about the LRTimelapse Software?

In my very humble opinion, there is a software you must have no matter how simple or complicated you want your timelapse sequences to be.  This software is LRTimelapse. And its my timelapse secret weapon. Well, its not really that secret. Actually.
So, LRTimelapse is an amazing software that works with Adobe Lightroom to manage the processing of the images individually and then together as a sequence. As such, it smooths out the exposure of the images across the sequence so that sudden changes in light are not visible.  Otherwise, the sequences will often flicker because of subtle changes to the light while shooting.
LRTimelapse works almost on its own. And it’s easy to use.
Indeed, I don’t think I could produce the same level of quality in my sequences without LRTimelapse. And, the best part is you can try it out for free!
